The Erins 2010-13 - The Results!

The results of the Erins 2010-13 can now be announced!

There were 148 voters, which is a very impressive total given that this is the third major poll in a relatively short space of time. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.

The winner in each category is listed below, together with honourable mentions (listed alphabetically) for anyone else who got a significant proportion of the vote.

  1. Congratulations to all, I cannot say to be surprised of the results (only the new authors in 2009 and 2010 i haven't tried to predict), this was the last tribute to goblinboy (and his game are good), another wannabe and lamont had done good in their years.
I wasn't sure in 2011, goblinboy fans had 2 games in which share votes and pac had had a revival with SPAC, but the better result has been the participation and we have voted the missing years.
And thanks to deusexlibris for the precious work.

  2. Not a surprise, but certainly a welcome addition! Glad to see the authors over the years getting (if not a bit late :) ) recognition for their hard work. Big congrats go out to the winners as well as a heartfelt thanks to all the authors through the years who put forth an effort to entertain us. Thanks!

  3. Hi, GoblinBoy here (yes, really!)
Thanks for the votes - nice to get game of the year for 2010, 2011 and 2012, especially since I wasn't even there to vote for myself! ;)
I haven't been keeping up with AIF I'm afraid. Only found this post by chance. I was sorting out an old drawer and came across an old external drive that I used to use to backup all my data. I stopped using it in late 2010, looks like I was partway through the Photoshoot at the time, since I have the first 3 and a half chapters finished, but all the pictures for the rest. It also contains all my DAZ resources and the code for my games up to that point. Half way through K2E, not Tesliss Equation yet. There are a few unreleased pictures and some things that I can't remember if I released them or not, such as a comic version of Kim's photoshoot (done as a test for the comic software I used for The photoshoot).

So, is a GoblinBoy comeback on the cards? I don't think so. Although it has, rather annoyingly, cracked open a door I thought I had closed. But I might be willing to release some of the previously unseen bits if you can suggest a suitable place.

And proof that this is me? Ummm... well, I have my code and pictures! :) Also, do I remember that a bunch of the pictures in Meteor were corrupted? I think I still have the originals. :)

    Cheers!

  4. Good to hear you're still in one piece :)

"But I might be willing to release some of the previously unseen bits if you can suggest a suitable place"

The only places I can think of are aifcommunity.org, a filehosting site like Dropbox, or an image sharing site like imgur if you wanted to post them on the subreddit. Ultimately though, it comes down to what you want, and how you want those files to be used.

  5. I'll have a think about it... is the yahoo aifarchive still going?

    1. Yes, but you now need a Yahoo! account (and therefore a Yahoo! email address) to join, so it's not as easily accessible as it was.

  6. I have created a yahoo email account (got goblinboy2@yahoo.co.uk back...) But it won't let me join a group without giving them my mobile phone number. Which, umm, no.

  7. Yeah, Yahoo! has become a real pain in the ass with all its 'improvements'.

Another possibility is that I could give you author access to this blog.

  8. Goblinboy lives! Kick ass. Hope you get posting figured out. Even if its unreleased stuff, anything new from you is bound to be awesome.

  9. Well, don't get your hopes up. Things generally weren't released for a reason... Plus, I can't actually remember what I released... Did I release the short demo comic strip I did of Kim from Meteor stripping for you? Or the test interactive web game featuring Jenny from Meteor? And there are a few random pictures from various projects that I never used, or early pictures of characters while I was still developing them. Alison from SD3 playing guitar, anyone? :)

    1. The GoblinBoy 'brand' is still pretty strong (see above), so I'm sure anything you decide to release will be appreciated (and I don't recall any of the things you mention).

  10. I can't believe what I just read, to a degree.
Firstly, congratulations to you GB you were a worthy winner and, an obviously, humble recipient.
Secondly, thank fuck your alright, I am sure I speak for everyone when I say this but, you are sorely missed my friend, you were the one that got me into AIF. Purely by accident, I may add, but, and I have to have a but, I go back to the first part.... Thank fuck your OK. That alone, to me anyway, means a lot.

  11. I did post on Deus ExLibris pages a year or so ago that I was ok. But yes, I am fine :) Life is good. I tried to extract some stuff from the old hard drive that I found, and I remembered why I had replaced it - it only works about 1 time in 3. Anyway, I got some stuff from it and I'll see if I can post a couple of unreleased pictures or something on here. Just for old times sakes. Also, anyone know if ABomire is still around?

    1. The last time he posted to aifarchive was back in March, so he should still be around. I don't think he's a visitor to this blog though.

    2. If anyone knows how to get hold of him, that would be great. In other news - how do I create a new blog post here? Can I put pictures up?

    3. If you log in to to blogger.com you should see the dashboard. If you click on the orange button you should be able to create a new post, unless I've screwed things up somehow. You should be able to upload pictures, but I don't know if there are any limits on size, etc.
