Real McCoy Survey Closing Soon

Just a head's up that I'll probably be closing out the Real McCoy survey sometime in the middle of this week (Wednesday/Thursday area) to begin drafting the next portion of the story. Responses seem to have mostly tapered off at this point, so I'm thinking by mid-week I should have a definite idea of where the story is going.

Also wanted to give a shout out to those readers who have responded with multi-paragraph, in-character responses on the Blogs, it's definitely making the game a little more interesting; although, I almost feel like at least one or two of you are saying things that might make Alice act a little different from what you voted for ...

Anyway, things are still a tight race here. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes! Also, don't forget Apocalypse High is still up for voting as well!

Letwri

Edit: Huh, we once again seem to have a tie vote in our survey for Real McCoy. I'll be keeping the survey open either up through tomorrow or until the next vote that breaks the tie I think. I don't think this next portion of the story merits another 'spin the bottle' scene ...

Another (late) Edit: Hey everyone, sorry there hasn't been a post from this past weekend yet. Had some less than great personal issues that ate up a bunch of my time (and let's be honest, motivation) so I may defer the update for Real McCoy until this upcoming weekend. Apologies for the late update but it's been a little hectic. Will try to make it up to everyone with this next post ... until next weekend, folks!

No Apocalypse High Post This Week

Just a head's up, no Apocalypse High this weekend; didn't get enough responses to merit a full post. Keep in mind though, we do still have two weekends left after this one, so survey away if you want to see more Apocalypse High before the end of the year!

Also, next weekend I should be doing another Real McCoy post, so keep an eye out. If you haven't responded yet, you may want to soon; things are much closer than usual the last few surveys and Alice has some big decisions to make. Also remember that surveys that include a particularly good comment or suggestion on The Muse's Blog or RealDeal22's Blog may carry some more weight than they otherwise might ...

A couple of things ...

So real quick, I wanted to get some announcements out. Firstly, for those who are interested, I have uploaded several of my old works from the AIFgames.com site to the Yahoo group Files section. This includes the old Test series (The Test, the Rival), Phantasmagoria and Unforeseen Consequences (my Half-Life 2 based game). These games are more or less directly pulled from the old forum, so they are formatted in more of a command/response structure than a story; they also represent some of my first attempts at writing, so buyer beware. Many thanks to Shino24, who provided copies of some of the lost content for those stories.

Been looking at some of the totals for the Apocalypse High and Real McCoy surveys and tentatively I'm expecting to take this weekend off unless I see a a bunch more flood in. I'm assuming many of our readers are probably busy with the holiday season prep so I want to make sure they have some time to read, enjoy and respond if they would like to. I promise, it's not me holding the stories hostage (give me all your opinions in a brown paper bag!) I just want to make sure I'm pacing things properly.

As usual, if it looks like one story or another has a surge of interest I will do what I can to get more content out there. Thoughts? Questions? Concerns? Let me know (my contact info is listed on each story post, by the way)!

Letwri

Edit: Had a question or two about whether it was Apocalypse High's turn for a post this week; Apocalypse High's post for this month was actually the first weekend of this month. I am still willing to give it another post this weekend but I still haven't seen too many responses yet. I'm going to say at that I need at least another 4 or 5 responses before I'm willing to close that out and start writing; if for no other reason than to break some tied votes. If I see we have a decent number by tomorrow morning I'll make the announcement and start writing it.

Another Edit: Just a quick update from your Muse's Blog ...

"Adoring Fans, is that really what you want? To see me with my sister's boyfriend again? I mean, I suppose if that's what you want I could always ... but I mean, that can't be it, right? This is a love story between me and my boyfriend ... isn't it?

My bratty sister is practically cackling right now! She wants me to tell you to keep it up. She says that she'll extend her old offer; if the vote goes two to one in favor of her boyfriend and me, she will do a scene with me.I know you'll do the right thing again though ... right?"

Real McCoy Part Five

.... is now up. Things are really heating up now! Take a look on the Yahoo group. Survey is also posted here.

Letwri

Edit: Starting to think that one of my favorite parts of this story is viewing the survey results the day after. Usually I get some good comments in the first wave, but this time the point of interest is actually how even some of the results are this time. Sort of seems like more NTR fans coming out of the woodwork or something lately ... well, guess our fans of the 'true love' type route will just have to work extra hard! I'm just as eager as anyone to see how this little camping trip ends ...

Also Apocalypse High fans remember to cast your votes as well! We're only at about half the responses we usually hit on that game; come on, even demons and villains need a little love ...

Real McCoy Part Five: In Progress

Just a head's up, this week's Real McCoy post is currently being written. Interestingly, we had a tie vote this time around (and did not get the one remaining survey needed for an extra post this month) so this is going to be sort of an interesting one. Fortunately, one of our readers mentioned the idea of Vince replicating scenes from other games and one of my personal favorite scenes from a game involved four characters and random results ...

Also, just a reminder to our Apocalypse High fans to complete the survey when you can; results are looking rather sparse this time around. We actually have 5 weekends this month where I can potentially do some writing, so potentially I could run up to two more posts than usual if results are good ...

Letwri

Edit: Still working on this post; used a random system to determine what happens in the 'game' that takes place in this post and it ended up being about 36 turns between characters so I'm working to not make it repetitive. Keep an eye out for it a little later today!

Apocalypse High: Part 1 is up!

The next part of Apocalypse High is up for viewing on Yahoo Groups. Take a look and as always remember to respond to the survey to make your mark on the story and possibly drive me to (madness) write an extra post for this month.

Letwri

Edit: Just a head's up that I may close out our Real McCoy survey within the next two days or so to try to get prepped to write for it a little early this week. If you haven't responded yet now is the time! Also, just wanted to give a big thanks to those who have responded, particularly to those who have been leaving some more in-depth comments on the Blog portions of the survey.

As I mentioned before, those kinds of comments are much more likely to impact the story (Alice has already followed a few suggestions from readers) so it may be a good idea to double down if you want to see a particular result. I will say Alice has received a lot of comments nudging her toward some more ... relaxed views of her relationship with Vince. Careful, true love fans, the cheating/swinger supporters may just woo your Muse out from under her writer ...

Also wanted to thank those who have responded for Apocalypse High; I believe every response has had some degree of elaboration, which makes my job more fun. That has been balanced out, unfortunately, by a drop in responses; maybe a lack of demonic shenanigans? If so, let me know by completing the survey!

Another Edit: Just a quick note, looks like we are one more Real McCoy survey away from adding a third post for this month. Survey closes out tomorrow, so if there are any stragglers now is the time to voice your opinion!

Apocalypse High Post: Coming Soon

Hey everyone,

Just a head's up, I probably won't be able to start writing for Apocalypse High's latest post until later today, so anyone who hasn't read the last portion and/or completed the survey does still have a little time. For those who don't feel like searching for it, the survey can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/0gEXN45O4D4NQN693

Also, side note, what does everyone think of the pacing of the releases thus far. Too slow? Too fast? If you have any thoughts let me know.

Real McCoy Part Four

The next part of Real McCoy is live on the Yahoo group. Sorry for the delay, holiday prep is starting to take it out of me a little.

See the survey here: https://goo.gl/forms/U64wuGQnPKirWuRh2

Sunday 12 November 2017

The Real McCoy: Part 3

... Is up for viewing in on the Yahoo AIF group. This portion of the story includes an extra special survey; a contest between good and evil, light and dark, saucy and sultry (one might say). Make sure to take a look: https://goo.gl/forms/Z0e6MUnRFJdCxk8f1

Letwri

Edit: Huh, just saw roughly half the number of responses I get in a week in the last 12 hours or so ... nice, keep it up! Remember, this one will be featuring in a more hardcore style scene for the next portion of the story ... choose wisely (or not, not is fun too)!

Another edit: For those of you rooting for Jasmine (and thus, for a scene with Alice) a message from your Succubus: "Anyone who wants to see me and my sister together (with another guy) better start voting for me! Remember, the only way you get both of us is if I win 2 to 1 (the same as the ratio of girls to guys you will be seeing). You've got a lot of work ahead if you want some hot threesome action ..."

Yet another edit: The Real McCoy will not have an update this week and instead will return next weekend (the 25th or 26th). Responses were initially very good but not enough to prompt an extra update this month and what with upcoming holidays I will be a little too busy this weekend to give the story proper justice. On the plus side, those who still haven't completed the survey now have extra time to chime in. Until next week ...

Final Edit: Just a head's up, for those who haven't done the Real McCoy survey I will be closing it out this Friday to begin writing the next segment. If you haven't completed the survey (or are taking Jasmine's dubious advice to cheat by re-taking it) then you have until then to make your voice heard!

Also, Bob Arctor was kind enough to share some fanart depicting our Muse and Succubus competing for their fans' votes. Check it out here (careful if you are at work, it's a little risque).

Apocalypse High: Prologue Part 2

... is up on the Yahoo group. Don't forget to take the survey!  (https://goo.gl/forms/Ot29L8SR4vLZtaHX2)

Also, for Real McCoy fans remember that you have up until the end of today to get 10 more surveys in to break my old record and get yourself a bonus piece of the story this weekend. Surveys with interesting responses to Alice and Vince's blog posts count double; do your part to make me wear out my keyboard prematurely! Survey here: https://goo.gl/forms/pESpGuk2Dg7w78ED3

Real McCoy Part Two!

... is now posted to the Yahoo group. Hope you all like it! The survey format is changing a little this time around so that readers will be responding directly to Alice and Vince. The same comment to both of them may result in very different changes to the story so choose your words well! If nothing else, give Alice a nod, she finds the attention a little exciting ..

Survey here: https://goo.gl/forms/oFOFD6BsT1TtW4Ek2

Letwri

Edit: Just an update but I should be working on Apocalypse High sometime within then ext week, so if you are looking to influence the intro you may want to make sure to do the survey relatively soon!

Also, just a reminder to comment as well as filling out the more numerical portions of the survey for Real McCoy. The current survey is designed so that readers can respond directly to Alice and Vince's blogs. Alice tends to get a little more daring as she gets more attention and Vince is always looking for suggestions to help him plan his next photo shoot for his upcoming game; if you want things to get a little wild, let them know ...

Edit 11/4: Hey everyone, I noticed that we appear to have reached our usual upper limit for responses to the Real McCoy survey. Being the sort of person I am, I'd like to break that, so figure I'd offer some incentive to our lurkers out there. If I end up with 10 more responses by the end of today I will try to get another Real McCoy post out there this weekend (was originally going to wait for next weekend for that). I will count double for those with interesting responses to Vince and Alice's blogs, so make sure to give our characters some feedback!

Apocalypse High CDAF

Hey everyone,

Letwri again. Just letting you know that I will also be running the Apocalypse High CDAF story due to significant response requesting it. This, like Real McCoy, can currently be found on the Yahoo AIF Archive group both as a post and in the files section, with the survey available at the end of each post. The first post of Apocalypse High is available now, so swing by and take a look if you are into more over the top style stories with sexy demonic shenanigans!

Given the size of some of these posts I am expecting to release maybe 2 parts of Real McCoy and 1 part of Apocalypse High per month, likely one per week. I may, however, release more than usual if I see a surge of interest; I hate to disappoint after all, so if you want to see more make sure you make your voice heard! That being said, I can't guarantee anything since I do after all have a job and a life (sorta) but I will try my best to make it happen if I can.

That's all for now, keep your eyes peeled for the next update!

Letwri

Edit: Think I've got enough replies to start working on the basic outline for the next part of the Real McCoy, may give it another day or so before I begin writing and close out the survey. If you have any last minute ideas or opinions now is the time! The survey can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/fEMbMchiIaYfe9gm2

Haven't seen much in the way of response for Apocalypse High yet and no clear trends forming that I can see. I'd like to complete the Prologue by end of the month at latest; if you feel the same then you may want to get in there and share what you want to see happen with Anka! Trying something new(-ish)

Hey everyone, this is Letwri. You may have seen me around here and there on the subreddit or on my old alias through the Yahoo AIF Archive. If so, you may know that I'm not really an AIF writer; I've written forum based games (Live AIF, for those who remember aifgames.com) and I spend tons of time thinking about game and story ideas but I've never really jived with the the technical side of creating an honest AIF game.

I do still enjoy writing and I tend to do that best when I have an audience so I've decided to try something a little different. I'm terming it CDAF; Community Driven Adult Fiction. What this basically means is I will writing stories and having the community provide input between posts, allowing the whole community to get their say in the next 'command' after a fashion.

To that end, I've started up a survey to see what story I should write for the community; if all goes well, I may well end up doing a bunch of these but we're going to start small at first. My two initial story ideas are:

The Real McCoy: An AIF writer, Vince McCoy, uses pictures of his girlfriend in a game to draw interest back to the community. When the game becomes wildly successful and the community clamors for more Vince and his girlfriend must decide how far they will go to help save his hobby ...

Apocalypse High: Benjamin Stoltz felt life at Delmonte High was hell. But this year that may be more than an exaggeration when students begin acting strangely after the school Spirit Festival. Suddenly violence and sex seem to be everywhere (moreso than usual), and demonic creatures begin replacing the students. With literal horny monsters chasing the women at school, including his crush and childhood friend, Ben just may find himself missing the bad old days ...

Interested? Or maybe you have another theme to suggest? Either way, swing by and leave your mark: https://goo.gl/forms/ABmmk6vnYHd9wfCr1

Letwri

Edit: Actually got a decent crop of responses already with The Real McCoy as our winner. Already posted the Prologue in the Files area of the Yahoo group for those who want to take a look. Also have a link out to the survey that I'll be using to take reader input to shape the future of the story: https://goo.gl/forms/SytP7iEDskfBwNWx2

I'll still be taking responses for the first survey and if there's enough demand I may write Apocalypse High as well, though it will be a secondary priority to Real McCoy if I do.

Another Edit: Part One is now up on the Yahoo AIF Archive group. Complete the survey if you love me: https://goo.gl/forms/DO8VvrOlzzqFqoar1

Also, looks like we had a surge of interest in Apocalypse High so I will probably be writing that up as well. Keep an eye out for it!

2017 AIF Mini-Comp Results

After a hiatus of two years, the AIF Mini-Comp returned this year with a lot of excitement. Not only was there a good turnout of games, there was also lots of user discussions both before and during the Mini-Comp.

There were six entries to the Mini-Comp this year:
  • Control by Nicholas Wright (TADS3)
  • Seduce Code by Octarine Flash (ADRIFT)
  • Sex on the Beach by Hanon Ondricek (HTML-AXMA)
  • Entrancing Fling by Lost Trout (HTML-Inky)
  • Evil on Queen Street by ArdRi Games (ADRIFT, HTML-Twine)
  • The Swap by Broken Knight (TADS3)
Thank you to all of the authors for providing us with so many creative and enjoyable games to play this year!

After tabulating all the votes, I found that the results were very close for the top spot. In the end though, the top three finishers were:
  1. Sex on the Beach by Hanon Ondricek
  2. The Swap by Broken Knight
  3. Control by Nicholas Wright
Congratulations to Hanon Ondricek for winning the 2017 AIF Mini-Comp with the entry Sex on the Beach!

PAL v1.2.0: https://www.patreon.com/posts/pervert-action-2-14481616

I've put out the first public release of the newly updated PAL! While this doesn't include the new Attack of the Nega Maids sex scenes there is a lot of new and improved stuff to see, including a substantial graphical update, improved gameplay, bug fixes, cheats and lots more fun in the combat system.

I've also put out the first Attack of the Nega Maids release for patrons, if you're interested. This version contains: the ability to feel up the maids and have sex with them while they do their daily chores, as well as new requests from the sleazy merchant Hiroshi that you can choose to ignore or accept. Choosing a Voting System for the Mini-Comp 2017

Now that the games for the Mini-Comp have arrived, I have to choose a voting system. The most straight-forward approach would be to use a ranking system where players vote for their preferred game or choose their favorites.

I've decided to go with a rating scheme where players actually rate the games in each of the six categories. I think this provides more useful information to game makers because they can find out which areas their game is strong in and which areas their game is weak in. A rating scheme is also more fair to games that some people can't play. If a game doesn't work on a Mac system, then Mac players will never vote it as their favorite game. With a rating system, it's still possible to use ratings from other players to compare the games with each other.

It's Submission Time for the 2017 AIF Mini-Comp

It's the end of August, so it's time to put down your pencils and start submitting your games to the AIF Mini-Comp. Just send your game to me some time over the next couple of days. The deadline was always somewhat arbitrary, so I'll still accept your entries even if they arrive after August.

Send them to me by e-mail at losttrout AT gmail DOT com.

In the interest of avoiding viruses, it is preferred if you send game interpreter files or HTML files instead of binary executable files.

I'll start up your game to find the game's title and author, but if you want that information to be listed differently from what's there, please let me know that too.

As of September 1st, I have received the following games:
  • Control by Nicholas Wright
  • Seduce Code by Octarine Flash
  • Sex on the Beach by Hanon Ondricek
  • Entrancing Fling by Lost Trout
  • Evil on Queen Street by ArdRi Games
  • game by Broken Knight (delayed until after Labor Day)

I'll try to have the games released early next week.

2017 Mini-Comp Reminder

This is just a reminder that the deadline for the mini-comp is coming up! There's only one month until the end of July. At least one person has made enough progress on their game that they are looking for playtesters.

One month is usually enough time to create a small game. But when we get closer to the end of July, the deadline can be extended if authors think they could use some extra time.

Well Damn, That's Just a Big Sex Scene...

I was recently inspired to try and write a game related to a wife-swap type scenario. I thought the social and mental aspects would be interesting, and I started working on a game where you were the (initially) reluctant husband in the scenario. Narrativly, it focuses on you slowly giving in to the desires - or deciding to walk away - and includes a lot of stuff relating to not only your hesitance, but the knowledge that your wife and best friend are nearby, and showing no such reluctance (including some voyeuristic aspects).

And, I was pretty jazzed! Lots of dialog, lots of new stuff to try (fuses, scripts, demons, etc)...

But I realized that, as I have it written (probably 2/3rds of the way done) it dumps you RIGHT into the intimacy, and concludes when you eventually leave.

BUT - though there is a lot of depth (I think), there is no puzzle, etc. Advancing the scene is just a matter of making choices that advance the scene logically (talking, touching eventually, etc).

Do people think such a thing is 'playable', or is it too flat to add much real value? What thoughts or advice do you have?

Let Me Out v0.3.1

I’m ready to put out a public alpha release of my latest game!

Let Me Out is the sequel to my earlier game Let Me In (although you don't need to have played that one) and features a more developed form of that gameplay, in which you type the actual words of a conversation between a princess in a dungeon and the orc guarding her.
