Emily: Sister Attraction by Palmer

Emily: Sister Attraction by Palmer has just been released. It's a dialogue driven and linear game, with dynamic content and plenty of pictures. The story revolves around the increasingly passionate relationship between the player character and his sister Emily, as well as their love for each other.

It can be downloaded from the author's website.

If you wish to give the author feedback, the discussion thread at his website is here.

  1. Amazing work by Palmer.

+ I liked the use of a real model to represent Emily. I much prefer this approach to Poser or Daz Studio generated characters.

+ Emily's personality really shone through. Very strong characterization throughout.

+ Dialogue was written well, for the most part, with a good ear for characters' individual voices.

+ The CYOA-type elements were effectively deployed, especially when used to operate the computer and phone.

+ Most of the rooms were fully implemented. I noticed very few missing descriptions for visible objects.

+ It was nice to see negative consequences result from going too far in certain situations.

    However ...

    - I thought the pacing was problematic in the final third of the game--specifically after leaving the house. The way things escalated felt a bit rushed in comparison to the pace of the rest of the game. The ending came out of nowhere.

    - The bit with the jogger seemed out of place, as if it was only included to beef up the end-product.

    - There were one-or-two cringe-worthy lines of dialogue--especially when the PC and Emily were expressing their feelings.

    - I'm not sure if the flashback structure of the narrative was a slam dunk.

    - There were a few bugs, mostly involving the computer.

Overall, I'd give the game a solid 8/10. Really impressive.
