The AIF Writing Salon is winding down, and the deadline for the AIF Minifest is approaching. I originally set the deadline for the Minifest as August.
Is there anyone who's planning on submitting anything to the Minifest? Does anyone need more time?
I'm too far away to have anything to submit any time soon, Minifest or otherwise, so I'm neutral on any extension. Good luck to anybody on the final stretch, we're all rooting for you!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, if anybody has finished or is close, I'm more than happy to beta-test.
August as in August 1st? My game is 95% done and I should be ready for a beta test this week. I could definitely have it totally finished if the deadline was later in August.
ReplyDeleteSimilar I've got a twine game that's 90% finished, if it was end of August and I got some help with checking and testing then I would be happy to release.
ReplyDeleteCheers nowherecity
Let's tentatively aim for August 15th then. I'll ask around on August 8th to see how things are progressing though, and I will extend things further to August 29th if the extra couple of weeks will help in finishing things up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the extension - still working on mine but life stuff (new job etc) has meant that I've been delayed. Even if I miss the minifest then I'll complete and release it once done anyway. With any luck by the 15th I should be able to beta test something at least.
ReplyDeleteThere's no need to thank me. I'm just changing a 1 to a 15. You authors are doing all the work. I could use the extra time on my game too.
DeleteYeah, should be perfect me too, thanks
ReplyDeleteOk I think I'm ready for a beta test!
ReplyDeleteYou can download the game at http://seattleman150.neocities.org/First%20Date.taf
The conversation system doesn't fully work yet, you need to ask Katherine about a certain number of keywords to progress so if you don't end up getting enough points just use the command "Impress Katherine" at least 10 times to boost it. That's annoying, I know but the conversation part ended up being harder than I thought.
Also an FYI, this is a prologue to my next game.
Where would you like to receive comments?
DeleteProbably via email, seattleman150@yahoo.com
DeleteAlso, I've edited my file so you only need to use the special command once. One thing I've learned while writing this game (and for programming in general I imagine) is that you end up with LOTS of little loose ends that need fixing or tweaking!
DeleteWe intend to release or game in September. So we are highly in favor of an extent in the due date.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot.
I will extend the deadline one final time.
DeleteI will extend the deadline of the Minifest one final time to around August 29th.
ReplyDeleteDon't fret if you aren't able to make the deadline. The minifest is not the minicomp. The deadline is just an arbitrary date to help motivate writers to get things done. You can always release the game yourself at a later time.
